Beaches
The Costa Calida is surrounded by sandy beaches of the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. Many of the beaches have been awarded the European blue flag award and many are accesiblefor disabled people and also have life guards on duty during high season. It is also important to observe the current water conditions. Spain has the following flag colours for safety in the water:
- Green - Safe to swim
- Yellow - Caution
- Red - Forbidden to swim
If you have visited the beach and you return to your rental property, we would kindly ask to shower at the communal (or private pool) before entering the property. This way, sand does not get into the cushions of the sofa, chairs or the mattras of the bed. This sand can cause permanent damage and if there is permanent damage or additional cleaning needed, it will be charged to you.
Cleaning and linnen
The property will have been thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and will be cleaned again on your departure. The properties are self catering but if required change of linen mid stay or daily, cleans can be arranged at an extra charge. Please contact your host for more information. If you are not 100% satisfied with the clean upon your arrival, please contact your host and we will return to the property to resolve the issue.
DVD's, CD's, Books and Games
Some properties may be equiped with DVD's, videos, books, CD's for your enjoyment. We respectfully ask that these not be removed from the home at any time
Fire
In the event of a fire, please leave the property immediately and inform us on the emergency number. If required also call the fire and emergency services on 112. Thell them "fuego" and the address, fire extinguishers are fitted as standard in all properties.
Golf
The Murcia region of Spain has many golf courses offering a varying level of difficultyfrom 9 hole pitch and putt to 18 hole PGA courses, but all offer an enjoyable experience.
Hot Water
Each property has a hot water boiler and they work like a kettle, the water heats up and when it is used the tank must heat up again before you get more warm water. If for any reason youy are not getting hot water, please check that the switch is on, or the electricity cable is plugged in, you will find it near the boiler.
Airconditioning
All properties are equiped with airconditioning. Some properties have the use of the airconditioning included in the rental price, others work on a pay as you use system. If you are in a property that has a system with rechargeble cards, you can obtain extra cards at our office.
In summertime AC units may get overheated and stop working. In the rare event this would occur, go to the fuse box, and identify the fuse for the AC machines, and turn it off for 5-10 minutes. Then turn it back on. This will reset the AC unit and make it work again. If the problem is not resolved, please contact your host.
Please keep all doors and windows closed during the use of the airconditioning. To limit the electricity usage and in order not to get sick from the AC, it is recommended to set the AC on 23-27 degrees Celcius during the summertime. If you feel it is too warm inside the property upon entering, you can cool at a low temperature the first half hour and once the property is nice and cool, you can set the temperature to 23-27°C to maintain a cool feeling.
Please ALWAYS shut off all units, when you are leaving the property.
Some AC units have universal remote controls. These remote controls have been configured for the correct brand and type of AC unit. Please do not disrupt the settings. Use only the ON/OFF button, arrow up/down to change temperature.
In case of disruption and you want assistance in resetting the remote control, a service charge will apply.
Insects
The Spanish climate is perfect for insects. Ants can appear at any time of the year, particularly when food is left out. All open food should be covered or kept inside the fridge. Effective sprays or powders to eliminate this problem can be obtained from supermarkets.
Kitchen
The kitchen is cleaned prior to your arrival. Before you depart the property, please clean and dry (with a kitchen towel) all items used in the kitchen, including plates, dishes, cutterly and glasses and place them back in the cupboards, ready to use for the next guests.
Medical
Medical centres, hospitals and pharmacies are located throughout the area. If you require an ambulance please dial 112
No Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all properties. Failure to conform will result in a 500€ fee, and will be charged to your credit card. Smoking is allowed outside on the terrace, patio or balcony.
Pet Rules
Pets are not allowed.
Post Office
Post offices are open between 9 am untill 2 pm in most towns. The Spanish post boxes are yellow and most towns have one, and post will be collected once per day exept on Sundays.
Rubbish Bins
Please remove all your rubbish and place in closed plastic bags into the bins located around the outside of your rental property or community. These bins are emptied on a regular basis and are located around any property are several bottle, paper and plastic banks.
Shops
There are many small supermarkets or other type of shops in the Mar Menor and Murcia area that open from 9 or 10 am till 2 pm and from 4/5 pm to 8/9 pm in the evening exept Sunday. In the summer months, July and August, they tend to stay open all day, Sunday included. However, the larger supermarkets stay open all day but still may close on Sunday. Shopping centers stay open all day.

If you have an accident and need emergency assistance please call 112 from any phone. If you where involved in an accident, you must rteport it to your insurrance company and/or rental company and you must obtain all details from the other driver, regardless if you are at fault or not and you must draw a plan of the accident. If there is a language berrier, please dial 112, and the Guardia Civil will assist you in this.
All cars should carry 2 orange emergency lights. These should be activated and one placed 100 meters behind the car, and 1 on top of the roof. Also the fluorescent vest should be worn at all times. Seat belts must also be worn at all times.
Swimming Pool
Use of all pools is at your own risk. Some communities provide life guards at certain times of the year. In alml swimming pools the following points should be remembered:
- Children should be supervised at all times
- Only plastic drinking glasses and plates should be used.
- Take a shower before using the pool
- No diving at any time, pools are usually not deep enough
- Care needs to be taken when walking in pool areas as some surfaces can become slippery when wet.
- Finally, have respect for other users of the facilities.
Towels
The towels provided are for use in the property only. Loss or damaging of the towels will be charged on your credit card.
Wifi Internet
All properties have internet connection. Log in information is provided at each property. DO NOT RESET THE ROUTER. If we discover you have reset the router you will be charged 30€ for the reconfiguration.
Banks
Spanish banks are usually open from 8 am to 2 pm during week days. Provided you have a compatible bank card, you can withdraw cash from ATM without fees 24 hours a day. In case you go to bank, other than the one you have an account with, fees may apply.
Breakages
Please report breakages, however small they are. This will allow us to replace or repair items in time for the next guests. Any broken items found at the end of your stay may be charged to your credit card held on file as a security deposit. If you find anythinbg broken or damaged upon arrival, please notify us within 24 hours.
Cockroaches
Cockroaches live all over the world and are more of a problem in hotter countries. From time to time we also have this problem, especially when local authorities disinfect the drains in the streets, as this causes the cockroaches to appear. Keep the kitchen clean, clean up crumbs and spills promptly and generally keep the area clean. Paying special attention to the work tops. Put food away, do not eat in the bedrooms. Keep food in closed containers and do noit leave food out for extended periods. Don't leave dished overnight. Empty rubbish bins regularly and keep rubbish away from the property.
Electricity
In the property you will notice the main fuse box, usually posisioned near the entrance door. Various incidents may trip the automatic switch, i.e. over usage of power etc. If such an incident occurs, please reset the switch and wait 1-2 minutes before switching it back on.If you have any further issues, contact your host.
Fridge Freezer
During the summer months, the fridge freezer works very hard to keep cool, please do not set the temperature too high, as this will freeze up the back of the fridge and will not work correctly. If the dial is marked from 1-5 please set it to about 3. If the fridge does not feel cool and the dial is set higher please reduce to halfway and wait a few hours to see if the temperature lowers.
Heating and Airconditioning
Most of our properties are equiped with air conditioning machines, and these machines also work for heating. If the property or room has no machine, you will find fans and electric heaters. For safety reasons all airconditioning machines, fans and electric heaters must be switched off if you are absent from the property. Some properties have a water container on the bacony or inside the property for the air conditioning outside unit. We kindly ask you to empty the containers as frequently as possible as they can overflow.
The AC/heating machines need to be set at the correct temperature and correct setting. All machines are different but in general the sun symbol is for heating and the snowflake is for cooling. The temperature should never be set lower than 20°C and not higher than 27°C as this can ice up or cut out the motor. When using on heat mode, the machine can take some time to warm up. Please allow 10 minutes at the set temperature to heat up before changing any settings. Please note that airconditioners only work correctly when all windows and doors are closed.
TV Google Chrome / Smart TV
All properties either have a smart TV or a Google Chrome Cast device. By turning on the TV and selecting "source" you can find the correct HDMI chanel the Chromecast is connected to. There you can select preinstalled apps like Netflix, Prime TV etc. and log in, or download your desired TV app (in case you have a TV subscribtion in your home country, you can use your own login details and start watching your favorite chanels)

Keys
It is important to look after your keys at all times. We have a call out fee if you happen to lock yourself out and require to regain acces. During office hours you can collect and return a second set of keys free of charge, or outside office hours the call out fees are a minimum of 15€ up to 50€ depending on time and location. Please do not leave keys on the inside of the lock when you go out. To re-enter the property in this event we will have to force entry and you will be liable for any cost involved, including parts, labour and the call out charge of a locksmith. If you are unfortunate enough to lose the keys during your stay, you will be charged for a new lock and fitting.
Maintenance
Should you require any maintenance service, please contact your host, who will deal with this as soon as he can.
Neighbours and communities
Many of the properties are located in communities, or apartment blocks. These communities have rules and these are normally displayed around the pool area or on a notice board. We kindly ask that you respect the rules at all times. In respect of other's peacefull enjoyment of their holiday, we ask that loud music, singing/shouting or other similar noise will be allowed between 12pm - 8 pm

Police
If for any reason you require the police for an emergency please diall 112. If you need them for a non urgent issue, please visit the local police station or guardia civil office.
Roads
Please be carefull when driving and stick to the speed limits. If you are caught speeding, you will be fined on the spot and it can be pretty high. You must carry your drivers license and your passport/ID with you at all times.
Security
Unfortunately as this is a holiday resort, we do get opportunist crimes. Please remember to leave the property secure at all times. Safes are installed in some properties. Please take care of personal belongings when out and about like markets, shopping centres and at the beach. Do not leave valuables behind in the car.
Smoke Alarm
Some properties are equiped with smoke alarms. These are fitted for your security. Please do not tamper with or remove the battery.
The smoke alarm will go off if there is too much smoke in the room, especially from the kitchen. To stop the alarm you need to remove the smoke from the room by opening windows, allowing fresh air to come in.
Sun Tan Lotions
Please take care with applied suntan oils and lotions, as they can easily leave stains on bedding, chairs and sofa... and are hard or even impossible to remove. Also be carefull while wearing wet clothes.
All damages will be charged.
Toilets
Please do not put nappies, baby whipes and other sanitary disposables items down the toilet as this will block the toilet and the costs to repair will be charged to you.
Damage Deposit
We are delighted to welcome you to your upcoming holiday accommodation! As you prepare for a wonderful time in our accommodation, we want to ensure that your stay is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. To maintain the beauty and quality of our accommodations, we have a few essential details to share with you.
Security deposit:
Prior to your arrival at the accommodation, we require a deposit between €100 and €300, depending on the type of accommodation you are staying in. This deposit serves as a security measure and helps us keep the property in excellent condition. Please note that access to the property will only be granted after the deposit has been successfully processed. Rest assured, the deposit will be fully refunded after your stay, provided the property remains undamaged and in satisfactory condition.
Respect for the property:
We trust that you will treat our accommodation with the utmost care and respect. Any damage caused during your stay, beyond normal wear and tear, will unfortunately be deducted from your deposit. In addition, we kindly ask you to leave the property in the same condition in which you found it. Additional cleaning fees may be charged if the property is left in an unacceptable condition on your departure.
